I am looking back in anger.. big time! For some useless piece of sh!te didn't do his job properly this morning and decided it was probably ok to let this large strap loose. Well, this large strap - you know those with a big buckle used by truck drivers to hold goods on a flat bed - ended up on the M1 this morning, and ultimately on the bonnet on my Chimaera! Results: A inch deep , inch wide hole at the tip of the bonnet, and paint simply exploded on about 30 sq inches just above. AAAARGHHH!

Now the car needs a proper nose job, and I'll get the mirrors re-painted whilst I am at it... Any idea, how much I should expect to pay for this? I am fairly close to Tower View Racing. Does anyone know whether they have a paint shop? Any comments welcome.

Thanks

Roms- very upset and with a big hole in the bonnet

I had a quote for a front respray from BeeGees for 800 and I have Starmist Blue paint, which is not that expensive.

I woud say 800 for the paint job and guess a few hundred more for the GRP work.

£595 at Webbs in Bristol for the nose job and then he quoted me £150 - £250 to repair the crack on the front of mine.

I guess yours would be in that ball park too.

Matt.

Sorry to hear about your mishap. Tower View have got a paint shop, but I haven't used them. They have, however, got lots of letters on the wall from satisfied customers who are pleased with the results.
See you at the next meet.

Hi Paul,

Thank for the info. In fact I was on the phone with Tower View only a few minutes ago. This will be by far the most convenient place for me to go, since I am now commuting to Milton Keynes every day - sunny morning blast up the M1 with the roof down, now that's what I call commuting! (Specially when I can charge the milage ). I am driving 100 miles a day in the Chimaera and getting paid for it

I may have to stay up there one night a week or so. We could catch up after work for a sunset-time pint?

In any case, I'll be in Duxford with Stef on the 10th.

Cheers

Always ready for a pint - email me via my profile with your number. Also going to Duxford. Apparently it's going to be sunny and hot.
