I'd like to get a bit more angle on the base part of the driver's seat. Whilst I could put spacers under the front, what I'd really prefer is to lower the back half by about 0.5 inch, which would give me back some of the driving position of my old 4.0 which was so comfy. Unfortunately, this end is bolted straight through the carpet already, with nothing to remove. Underneath, there's a thick wire/cable running centrally from front to back, with about 20 thinner horizontal wires that thread through it. The only fix I can think of is to cut some of the wires that support that end. If I snip a few, do you reckon it will do the job or will the whole thing unravel and fall apart?

I've just rebuilt the drivers seat on my 4.3, cutting the wires will make the seat saggy, stretch the leather and make it a bit uncomfortable. Raising the front is a better idea, at least if you dont like it you can reverse it.

Have you still got the standard runners under there? They add about an inch to the height?

It does have runners, yes, but if it was possible to take them out, I wouldn't be able to slide the seat any more. Unless you know of slimline runners?

Who needs to slide the seat? It may stop any other bugger driving it - bonus!
