Hi All,

I'm starting to have trouble with my Key Fob where if have to press it a million times before it decides it wants to unlock the car.... It's the Key Fob the size of a mobile phone off a 95 Chimp.

I was wondering if anyone knew if there is a way to get a new one with out having to go through a TVR dealer.

Cheers

Chris

Washed mine in the washing machine and was told, if you can get around using it (I have an early one with the locks rather than the covered button) then do it. Basically you might be lucky, but got to be careful as the alarm is no longer made and therefore you might need to purchase a new alarm system - and we all know what the wiring is like in TVR's.....

Could get costly.

Cheers,

Paul

I was hopeing there might be somthing like a learning key fob..... like you have with them 3in1 TV remote things.

Where I could point my current Key Fob to the learning one and it picks up on the signal.

.........or have I just been watching a little to much StarTrek ???

i have one off a 96 chim, only one button. changed the batteries the other day (2*CR1220 from dixons, lever the fob plastic casing in half with a screwdriver) and it has helped things a quite bit, though frankly sometimes it is still a bit patchy - best place to trigger it seems to be between the drivers door mirror and the window.... (Meta alarm, probably on way out...)

If it's a Meta alaram, you can still get the key fobs from any decent car alarm place, even though you can't get the alarms any more.
