just changed leads,extenders and plugs
Discussion
boy does it run a lot better. just a few observations though which i'd like to throw out: some of the old plug extenders were very loose, also after a couple of drives with the new ones installed a couple had worked their way a bit loose as well. is this right? surely you need a good connection. what's the secret here? a bit of blue tack? (joke!!)
the old plugs that were removed had a gap you could drive a lorry through. i adjusted the new to 40 - what difference does the gap make?
car runs a lot better (fitted magnecor leads as well) but it is very lumpy particularly on tickover - the revometer is bouncing! is the reason to do with tuning etc now that new plugs etc have been fitted? tickover was really smooth with the old plugs. i have booked in for a rolling road session next week.
seeking expert explanations ...................
Don't know anything about Chims, but have had similar experience recently with my S2. Changing the HT Leads helped quite a bit - and they needed pushing on more than one to get a good fit, too - but the big difference cmae with cleaning out the air inlet valve which gets a bit grimy. I just sprayed loads of WD40 in there and jiggled the tiny piston around till it felt freer and I'm back to wonderful smooth motoring, even at dead slow speeds!
