Foxguard alarm keeps going off
Discussion
Does anyone know what sensors are connected to the foxguard alarm? I would like to check them to find out why it keeps going off. It normally happens a minute or two after locking. I am guessing door sensors and a motion sensor maybe?
I am reluctant to change to a meta or similar as the Foxguard has been great in my 8 year ownership so far, even though a remote boot release would be nice

Hi,
door courtesy light switches and microwave internal sensor are the main alarm triggers.
You can deactivate the microwave sensor trigger via the alarm. To do this, deactivate the immobiliser, turn on ignition to second stage, press button on alarm fob and the alarm siren will give a small chirp, remove ignition key close door and arm alarm as normal. The alarm will now be armed but not be triggered by the internal microwave sensor. This feature will deactivate next time you unlock the car.
The Foxguard alarm actually has a feature by which it can be interegated to tell you which triggers have been causing false alarms but you have to access the actual alarm unit to do this.

Thanks for the help! Where is the microwave sensor located as I have never seen one? I have had the dashtop off quite recently for my ECU fitment so it won't tae me long to get access to the alarm module if that saves time fault finding. I will try it with the microwave disabled though to see if that stops the false alarms
It's under the centre console to the rear of the door opener, there is a screw either side at the transmission tunnel around where your left knew is approx, and there is either 1 or 2 screws at the rear of the console under the cover in the storage bit at the rear of the console .. if you remove the screws you can get to the unit just by lifting the console ..
If you know which model of unit it is you can download the manual with a Google search. It should tell you how to disable the sensor without removing it from the car simply by pressing the buttons in the correct sequence. Then you will know if it is the problem, hopefully.....
On the unit fitted in mine, you can activate the diagnostic mode which will flash the indicators in a code to tell you the problem circuit but its a Laserline but don't know if this is a feature on yours too.

Finally got round to doing something about this today. I checked the door switches and all seemed ok, then removed the centre console and found the microwave sensor had come loose and was upside down! I have taken it out for the time being as we are going away for the week but hopefully that is the issue. If it keeps going off there is obviously something else wrong.
