Foreigners in the house.....
Discussion
.....as title, I have a man from Norway and a man from Yorkshire in the house (well, Yorkshire would declare independence if it could, and they speak a strange tongue...)

For those who don't know them, Ole Vix from Oslo and Steve Edwards from 'uddersfield.
Meeting up at my gaff to discuss Steve's hardtop that Ole has purchased

Nice design, targa panel comes out, but also both sections fit nicely in the boot.
He does these mark 3 style lights too......

No, I'm not his PR agent, just seriously impressed with what he has designed and made.

It does indeed. I was well impressed.
I didn't photograph the panels going into the boot, wish I had.
Rear section goes in first, easily, cover with a blanket, targa section (which is lighter than the standard one) goes in next. Leaves you with a lovely smooth back to the car, no silly pram hood acting as an air brake or getting in the way of your rear view mirror. Of course you can remove the panel and leave the rear section up, like on a normal Chimaera.

It was great to meet Ole when he came down Thursday night. I didn't know he was going to buy a new car? Nice one Ole. How was Silverstone Ole and anyone else who went?
He probably won't answer until he's back in Oslo tomorrow. He has bought a hard top off Steve, and now has to fit it to his car.
Every car is different, and of course it has to be sprayed to match his Halcyon Midas Pearl Chim first (sparkly yellow).
He was meeting with Steve to get some info on the finer points of the fitting, as every car's bodywork is slightly different so there's a certain amount of alignment to do.
I do have to add that the rear section clips into place with four clips, and when it is off the body lines are perfectly smooth at the rear, no buttons of spikes protruding. The targa top fits as per the standard one at the front, then clips to the rear section with two clips at roof level, so no tensioning struts. Rear window is perspex, so both sections are light for ease of handling. Definitely a one man job to fit/remove, unlike so many hard tops, and as said before the whole thing goes in the boot in two parts.
Thanks for the fantastic hospitality Qbee, it was great to meet you and Ole at your place and to be made to feel so welcome.
TVR enthusiasts are such a friendly welcoming bunch.
I had no idea we'd end up at your place until I received a last minute text giving me a post code to meet at (instead of the services on the A1).
You have a lovely house by the way too.
Its amazing how several hours can just fly by when blokes get chatting about TVR's!
Steve.

Thank you Anthony for wonderful lunch and hospitality on such short notice. I must also commend Steve on driving one hour just to meet me and show me the details of how to adapt and fit the hard top, his attention to detail is as good as his customer service!
In person the hard top looked like an OEM product.. hats off!
Also thanks to danattheopticians for meeting me and having a chat in Bournemouth, picking me up in his lovely blue, late model 4 liter.
Thanks to Peter for having me for tea and biscuits on Friday
Big thanks to Alex daredevil for letting me stay two nights in his house with his girlfriend Sabrina, their 4 dogs and 7 cats... On Saturday we had a good time at the Silverstone classic, even posted a visit to the Tvr cc stand where nothing was going on
