Talk to Carl Baker, www.tvruk.tv
He replaces the entire system and gives you a boot remote.

^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^

This is the way to go. I had my entire alarm replaced by Carl last year and it is an excellent job. He also goes over the whole electrical system and provides any updates that he has noticed are needed based on his years of experience with these cars. He is particularly careful with the ignition circuit wiring and replaces this with the correct category of wire (read thickness) as the factory regularly used wire that is now too thin to start the car when hot and is a classic symptom of the hot start issue still prevalent in TVR's. Drop Carl an email and he will tell you what he does, and when he is next back in England (he lives in France) and where he will be based. He uses known TVR places to do his work at and I had mine done when he was at Dan Taylor. He did my car last September and you may get a slot in his diary if he is coming back this September.

+1 for Carl Baker. ^^^^^ Everything Ian says above about his services is correct. A very good investment to make your imobiliser and ignition system more reliable than when it left the factory.

Another vote for Carl.

He does a very thorough job - took him around 8 hours or so to complete the work and that was without any major issues being found..

Well worth it IMO.
