Sounds like they didn't check the diff oil level at the service. Also sounds like it's been running with no oil for a while.

I would go back and complain.

Are we allowed to name and shame on PH?

Wont name, sure there are a hundred legal things they could get me on.

But suficed to say I wont go to a Main Dealer again!!

But for them not to know that it even had a seal in the first place is a bit fishy. Either that or they dont want to sell one to a non-franchised garage.
