Had the kit fitted yesterday and what a difference and I haven't even started fiddling with the settings yet so its on the soft side of medium.... apparently, but who cares. There is now absolutely no movement or twitching round those long sweeping corners .... I should imagine supreme stability even at speeds in excess of the legal limits !! And coming out of the many roundabouts in Milton Keynes the whole thing feels so much more planted. The other most immediately noticeable thing is how stable the car has become in a straight line at speed. It took me an extra half an hour to get to work this morning and the roads were very quiet.
It's not cheap, but I figurred I'd rather spend the money on handling than looks, and as I drive it every day the return on the investment is in the smile !!

I know Peninsula were instrumental in the development time and costs with the original NTX damper for chim and griff, can't believe they'd let the kudos slip to TMS with the latest NTR range .. I did the testing for the latest NTR dampers for the cerbie and tuscan which went on to become the std Nitron kit at 400lb front / 325lb rear. I'd say if you were going to be buying chim / griff stuff then give peninsula a bell, after all their work at the beginning was very important and they should be rightly rewarded methinks.
I have just dropped my car off at Thames Valley Racetech for 24k service and a new set of Nitrons to be fitted. A full set of 4 dampers, springs and bushes is £850 plus VAT - I got them direct from Nitron (www.nitron.co.uk). I can't wait to get it back next week - handling just has to be way better than before (car wanders in a pretty scary way on anything but A1 surfaces).
Have to say that while I still had my Chimaera, simply getting it set up right solved 90% of the handling issues. A little more negative camber at the back and getting the front wheels pointing in the same direction made a huge difference -- and I don't suppose my car was that different to most.
Nitrons have a great reputation and, according to those who know a lot more about this stuff than I do, they deserve it. However, I'd have thought that getting the geometry set up right before fitting new kit gives you a more appropriate reference point aginst which to judge how new hardware might improve things. Cheaper too.

Agreed that a geometry set up is wise - already tried that along with rebushing, but the drive was still very skittish. Just picked up the car up serviced and Nitron shod and after a short drive first impressions are fantastic. Road blemishes are hardly noticeable, feedback is sublime and I no longer feel as if I am bare-knuckle fighting the wheel when I reach the twisty bits. Roll on Saturday and a chance to make my excuses to the missus and find some decent roads to explore
