I recently removed my all-singing-and-dancing 5.1litre V8 and replaced it with a bog-standard Disco' 4.0litre with a view to selling the car.

As part of the swap my engine builder put in a lightened flywheel and changed the cam to a 'mild' profile (shed loads of torque basically).

There is no doubting that it goes well for a 4.0litre but it has a slight imbalance or roughness which we are putting down to having a lightened flywheel on a standard engine.

What I want to know is, to what extent did TVR modify the flywheel on the 4.0litre cars? We've checked one out from an Aussie dealership and it appears to have been deliberately imbalanced which implies TVR were attempting to cancel out an engine imbalance. If this came from a car with modified pistons it could point to TVR going the cheap route of mass-balancing their modified engines.

If someone has the TVR and Rover flywheel weights handy that would be interesting to compare with what I've got.
