I waxoyled my car this week end.I removed the flaking paint and wire brushed and used emery paper on the rusty bits before applying waxoyl.

I found rust all along the tubes running along the outside of the chassis. The paint was flaking at some areas along the tube and I applied the above method.

The car is 99 chimaera. Is this normal? Should I go to a garage to get the job professionaly done (not that i do not trust myself but you never know)? If so can you recommend anywhere ( I live in Shropshire at the mo).

Thanks in advance.

Not unknown but usually just surface rust and Hammerite etc will protect it.

frenchalex - remember, hammerite (or similar) before waxoyl treatment! No need to emery the rust, just slap on the hammerite making sure you cover all rusty areas - or even, all areas.
