Hi,
Chimaera driver side brake light down - bulb seems OK. Would appreciate guidance on the next steps in the diagnosis.
Thank you,
crouchy
Check the contacts are all clean and the bulb is making good contact with the bulb holder, earth would be the next suspect (those Ford tail light assemblies are renowned for earthing problems) then take a meter to the holder and see whether you have 12V and/or earth at the terminals.
You may also want to try taking a closer look at the bulb itself. I had this problem, bulb checked out OK but the contacts on the bottom appeared to have worn down (gone from convex to concave - possibly due to vibration??) and therefore weren't making contact.
New bulb sorted the problem... though make sure you don't throw away the good one and keep the duff one as... ehem... someone may or may not have done...
(bought two so was OK!!)
Cheers,
Phil.
