Rob L has given me the thumbs up and finally after months of arduous searching I will get my hands on my first TVR tomorrow...just in time for the good weekend promised.

I currently own an MGF and during the whole weekend I will pay a visit to anyone I can remember who has suggested I am either a) a hairdresser or b) if I'm a woman in disguise. LET THEM SAY THAT NOW!
In fact I may also pay a visit to this Mambit Gambler (or whatever the heck his name is)...just to put the record straight.

The car is a 5l and in time I will update my profile and add a few pickies. Thanks to all who have helped me with my queries.

I'm half thinking of pulling a sickie in work tomorrow just to drive the thing to the moon and back....I will still have time to make work on Friday!

BTW, yes I have practiced my grin....

Welcome to this fantastic world of TVR Ownership. Hope to see you out and about on some meets. Bob the Planner has Dorset Dawdle 2 lined up so try and get along and say hello to everyone. (Although I don't think I'll be able to make it )

Rememer it ain't an MG, and it will bite you big time if you try to abuse it.

Welcome to the club - Outrageous amounts of driving fun await .
Got to seccond what ABB says though .
R E S P E C T the 5 litre - its no MG .
After many road/track miles with mine its still has the capacity to bite if not handled with some due deference - thats why i love 'em .
And so will you .

Totally understand where you are coming from. I'm approximately 10 hours away from collecting my 'mid-life crisis on wheels'.
I guess the time of this message proves the point regarding the 'Sleepless in Cheshire Syndrome'.
This will be my first TVR and I am seriously concerned that it may be possible to have 'too much fun'.
Best regards to all. I've learned a lot from this excellent site.. thanks.. 44 going on 17!

midlife crisis? if buying a TVR is a crisis roll on a good day. When you reach the years of expected maturity and your choice of expenditure ranges between a fitted kitchen or a conservatory you should be commended when you think fcuk that, I need a TVR

Hi Marco - welcome to the fold. I see from your profile that you live in Wiltshire (North or South?). Check out our web site www.tvrcc-wiltshire.co.uk - we've got a meeting on Weds evening at Sandy Lane...not far from Chippenham. If you can make it we'd be glad to see you along there ...see events page for details.
Paul.

I must admit I was under the influence of a few celebratory drinks when I posted my message last night and as such felt quite brave which some of you gathered by the tone of my writing.
But yes I will treat it with a hell of a lot of respect.
Cheers all

Marcob that sounds the nuts! As for the MGF drivers, you can do what I do. And say what I once said: at set of traffic lights in Birmingham (by the Rover, as it happens), burbled up to these two likely lads in MGF and said "Hey lads. When your hairdressing business takes off, will you aspire to a TVR?" Lights went green and I left them working out what I meant as two neat black lines and wall of V8 noize shot off in the distance! Arrogant I know. But bloody funny all the same!
Enjoy! And take it easy - 5litre of burble can do an awful amount of damage!

Hi Marco, good to meet you yesterday evening at the meeting.
Great looking car (though the darkness in the carpark made it difficult to see the colour!)
BTW - we wondered where you were going when you left the 'convoy' after the meeting...thought you were following us to the M4 hope you found it ok though!

Yes it was an enjoyable evening. After speaking to a few I'm now trying to get tickets to Le Mans....

I must admit it was great following 2 other TVRs last night.
I left you when it said left to the M4..the road then proceeded to make a massive loop...I'm sure it would have been quicker to have followed you guys. Never mind
