Look at lots.... (you'll get a feel for it then)

Don't buy the first one you see.

READ the archives of the car you are interested in on Pistonheads.

Find a shortlist of 2-3 you think are OK.

GET A SPECIALIST with TVR knowledge to inspect the one you think is the best for you.

Repeat if necessary.

Generally, by on condition, not just mileage or age (0-10 years old cars out there)

Me, I would prefer to buy on age AND condition. (later specs, etc)

Higer Mileage means you can just get it cheaper, if the above are OK.

Mainly the care and attention it has received from previous owners. FSH essential and look at all the detail. Personally if I noted that, say, the tyres were changed every 2000mls I would assume that the car had had a hard life although this is not necessarily true.
I would also like to know something about the previous owner. Apart from this you can usually see immediately if a car has received LCAA --eg lots of little LT gimmicks, as new bodywork etc. Good luck!

1. Get a copy of 'The Bible' from Steve Heath or the TVRCC office.
2. Call Rob Ingleby www.atalantasoftware.co.uk/findacar/location.htm
For a set fee, he'll look for cars within your price and spec and check them over for you. (I have no connection with Rob other than buying my Chimaera through him).
3. Get a copy of 'The Bible' anyway!
