Help!! My drivers window has been making some funny noises over the last day or so and now won't wind up. I think a cog has sheered or come off or something as the motor is working but nothing moving.

Any ideas how to get at it? I guess it involves removing the door trim but how? Any ideas what might cure it or where the mechanics are from?

Thanks in advance

Paul

Getting the trim off is a right royal pain in the arse

Do a search on door trim removal, plenty of people had the same trouble

Alternatively, where are you in West Sussex, if you fancy a drive to Horsham, I'll show you

Could be a nice evening for it

Oh yes - removing speakers and having very long, strangely jointed arms . . . wear some padding as well!

Ben - make sure it's not stuck against the window trim

Hi Paul, If you need to have a look in the bible, I've got one, don't forget I'm only in Durrington.

Thanks Rob, but you need to move the window before you can get your hand at the back trim bolts IIRC so any fouling should have been sorted before you get to the army scrapy bit

Thanks chaps. I also spoke to Brian at Fernies and chickened out. My son has flu at the moment and I've not long got in from work so couldn't spend an evening with the door in bits, so Fernies will sort it tomorrow for me and lend me a car. Come up trumps again.

BTW Brian said they've sold about 30 cars in the last fortnight... good weather for TVR buying.

Thanks for the offers of help. Hope no one nicks the car tonight as it is only locked by leaning in the window and pressing the door lock button (figured the alarm would keep going off all night otherwise)...though it is in my 'garage'. Don't get any ideas Al - I know where you live and I'll come and find it again...

Cheers

Paul
