I just noticed this morning when taking the car for a blat round thr M25 to High Wycombe that the passenger door skin (whole section with leather on top and carpet in the middle bit) has come away at the top....After pulling it back carefully I can see that two screws are now unlossened from the top of the door and the holes that the screws went into now look too big to hold them in?...(difficult to explain this you know!)..it now makes an annoying rattle...

I had a look and thought how to fix it, but the screws have no way from inside the car of being turned or glued back into the holes...anyone had similar problems or any suggestions...?

Phew - was worried when you said door skin you meant outer skin !!

The bible covers this quite well. see SHPub's site www.tvr-books.co.uk

I have the Bible, and this mentions removing the ashtray to get at grub screws to take the inside of the door assembly off...except my CHim has no ashtrays at all...

Oo 'eck.

I'll have a butcher's at my bible this evening (latest version - is yours the old one?) and Chimp if the bible doesn't help.

Will be away from PH until Wednesday unfortunately.

Email me thru profile to remind me to look

the way the trim is atached to the door seems to have been changed about once every five minutes on the Chim, so I don't know if this is going to help much, but ...
On mine the trim (which is all vinyl, no carpet) is in two parts. A panel is screwed to the door, then a frame is bolted over the top. The frame hides the panel's screws. The frame hooks over a lip at the top of the door and is bolted in place along the bottom (nuts accesible, just, through the speaker's hole).
Is that anything like your arrangement?

Similar happened on mine but it was just the rear part of the passengers door. Need to take the whole panel off (speaker out and 3(?) nuts to find and undo) then re-fit the missing screws and re-assemble.
