My 98 Chim 500 currently runs EBC Greenstuff Front and Rear pads.
Front part number = EBC 2617
Rear part number = EBC 2605/2
Im going to have to replace them soon and may try another make thats more readily available.
Does anyone know the equivalent part numbers in the more popular makes i.e. Mintex,Ferrodo,Ford etc ?
Thanks.

Hi
you should'nt have any problems sourcing EBC pads.
The Greenstuff pad is excellent on Griffs & Chims.

I hope you are not running those EBC pads as the 2617 Front pad is actually the rear one!

Mintex and Ferodo actually quote TVR in their parts list.

Been doing some research today.
Mintex do a standard pad and a racing pad.

Questions.

1)Would standard Mintex pads be suitable for fast road and some track day work (did about 15days last year) ?
Not worried about wearing them out quickly, just replace them when needed.
But would they be more likely to fade on track days ?.

2)At present my front Greenstuff pads have appreciable life left but the rears need replacing asap.
Would it be OK to have Greenstuff fronts and Mintex standard rears?
(Im pretty sure that standard fronts/Greenstuff rears would be a big No No).

3)Anybody tried Mintex Racing pads on the Chim ? are they unsuitable for road use ?

BTW currently using EBC drilled/grooved discs (until i can justify a full on big Disc/Calliper upgrade).

Thanks in advance.
Darren.

I think the problem with that set up would be braking from cold - the rears would have significantly more grip. If at speed in an emergency, could be horrible. Standard fronts/Greenstuff rears is a big no no as you thought - made very apparent to me at a track day!

You want Mintex 1144 pads. They do a 1155 but it is very iffy from cold.
I would replace front and back and keep the Greenstuff for emergency.
