Removing Radio

Anyone out there got a Goldstar CD/Radio head unit - not sure if it original or aftermarket. I need to whip mine out to fit a new veneer panel and am lost as to what to do. The unit has 2 small holes at either side - local Halfords chap lent me some keys but these were way too thick. Have tried improvising with heavy wire, but I can't seem to connect with any kind of release mechanism.
