TVRs are constantly developed so any newer car is usually going to be a better all round. The Chimaera is a newer model, but the underpinnings of the early Chimaeras was not much different to a V8s so expect similar running costs.
Q1 - do you like the pre-cat growl? = V8s
Q2 - which shape do you prefer?
Q3 - do you want a day-to-day car? = Chimaera

I beg to differ.
The Chimaera has a Griffith type chassis with double wishbones all round, whereas the V8S has rear semi-trailing arms. Both great cars, but the V8S will always be less refined.
