Throttle cable
Discussion
I'm sure there are threads about this somewhere but I can't find them. About 5 minutes after picking up my first TVR tonight (a 96 Chim) the fecking throttle cable went and the car coasted to a halt on the A10. Just one of those things I suppose, but will need to sort it tomorrow. Anyone know what throttle cables the Chim uses? Ford Escort or something?
Had the same problem 24 hours after picking mine up! Here's the thread:

The cable is TVR-specific but a Land Rover cable is just slightly longer and can be routed differently (apparently). I had to ring around TVR specialists to find one because they were on back order, but TMS had one and shipped it overnight. After that you can fit it yourself with the help of the bible, or do what I did and have a mobile mechanic/AA/RAC come and do it for you. If you have the proper cover, AA/RAC would be better.
Good luck!

If you look at the thread link i posted, someone on there mentions that the AA use a crimp-on nipple to secure the cable. As long as the cable isn't actually broken, you could probably get them out to do it for you in a matter of minutes. Alternatively they might just send you a kit to do it yourself.
By the way, I'm also 6'3" and found myself stuck awkwardly in the footwell on a few occasions!
