Hi all

Looking for some advice from someone smarter than myself on what spark plug I should choose.

Had my Tiv coming up to a year and being struggling with fouling plugs. When I picked it up it was running rough on idle, cold and hot, had the spark plugs out and gave them a good clean and all was working well until I got it back out the garage after Christmas where I’m back at the same issue.

The current plugs I have are B7ECS and I’ve been looking through the threads on here a few people tend to opt for the 6’s as it leads to less fouling however I’m not sure which ones I need. Resistive/non resistive if they make any difference? Or just order a new set of what’s in there and carry on as is.

It’s a 96’ 400 with the Emerald ECU upgrade if it makes any difference?

Thank you!

I would stick to BPR6ES with an aftermarket management system.

Thanks for the reply, Does the fact it’s resistive make any difference do you know?

Some resistance is required in the circuit to stop interference etc but how much is another question I cant answer really.
I was advised to stick to BPR6ES on an aftermarket system.

The only differencer between BPR6ES & BPR6E is the end connector is screwed on the S. I use the 6E which is fixed, that way i never have a loose end.
The V groove improves performance. Apparently.
Useless bit of information.

Eh? The NGK chart suggests S is just the standard copper core. No symbol at all IS the V groove.

In addition, my Griff has BP6ES, the HT leads are resistive anyway. smile

The other difference is the E has a V grooved ground electrode the S is standard non V groove , Reecemac if you have suppressed leads omit the R in the plug number however if in doubt stick to NGK BPR6ES like mentioned above
