It's from a Fiesta MK3 i believe

Very difficult to obtain. Motoclan do a replacement attached to the master cylinder

I had to take the pedal box out, pig of a job.

Holy st, £250.

The problem is that it's such an arse of a job you'll probably want to change the booster too whilst you're there.

Is the reservoir cracked and leaking or something? I'd be trying to repair it first if it were me

It has become an expensive thing to do.

I had a leaking clutch m/c, which eventually became empty.
But when I had to take the job on, I discovered the brake m/c was leaking into the servo, which was also banjaxed.
Replaced the whole lot, as well as replacing the slave cylinder and repainting the pedal box.
Easily over £500, but I now have hydraulics I can rely on, and I won't need to go in again for a good while.

That’s what I ended up doing whilst the pedal box was out, as I never wanted to do it again.

The brake fluid reservoir was split on my car, probably due to the under bonnet heat over the years.

No need to remove pedal box to change master cyl inc swapping the res just suck out or turkey baster the old fluid from the res , yes its fiddly but done another in the last 2 weeks inc re-flaring the unions due to TVR over tightening the previous ones (fked) frown on a 20k miles Griffith, changing without pedal box removal will be my 4th done this way, Im showing pics because if you change the MC you may have stubborn unions and damaged flares like in 2nd pic

That's impressive. Is it coming out as one or are you splitting the master cylinder and reservoir to get it through the hole?

Splitting , spray both grommets where res fits into MC with silicone spray/lube/dry film then wide flat plastic lever at front of res between body tub and under res join and lever up then swap ends come out easily , res unscathed

Good to know, I had just assumed that the angle was wrong for pulling the reservoir up through the hole when I did my booster thumbup

When I bought the replacement parts from Motaclan, the res and m/c came assembled, and there was a note saying the warranty would be void if they were split.
That motivated me to take the pedal box out. It's not that hard, just need to undo the bolts in the engine bay inner wing, and unbolt the accelerator pedal, then once you've undone the brake and clutch m/cs from the box, it comes out past the steering column.

Up to you and Sardonicus clearly knows what he's doing.

The question is where to source the reservoir only from?

Nice job getting it out in situ 👏

This came from a Ford Fiesta, has not been subjected to the high temperatures under a TVR bonnet or UV degradation from sunlight shining through the bonnet slots on a Chimaera.

Thanks Phillpott, I was meaning availability in general. Surely if motaclan can produce the combined unit, someone somewhere is producing the reservoir alone.

Why sell a plastic reservoir for a few quid when you can sell a master cylinder assembly for near on 240 quid scratchchin

I haven't had to do that job yet, but often wondered if just cutting a much larger opening and adding a new larger fiberglass trap door wouldn't make more sense. It would not be that hard to do unless something else is buried in there that would be in the way of making a larger opening.
