Fitting Audi TT mirrors
Discussion
if your having the same issues as me, the main one being that the 2 posts are too wide for fit in the hole (ooerr mrs!) I have ground down the edges that stick out and made 2 large holes in the recess in the door so they now fit down. I plan to fabricate a bracket that will sit on the inside of the door that I can bolt the wing mirrors into, rather than fibre-glassing it in, in case I ever what to remove it to fit indicators into or if someone hits it while driving. I'm off to the bodyshop sometime this week so will get pics of what i have done so far
yeah thats about the going rate, good value, no doubt will sky rocket soon

Indeed I am having the same issue and will be making some sort if mounting bracket, I will post a detailed how to and pic once successfully secured in place not being a spoil sport
You do know that mirrors are crash tested and insurance companies can refuse to cover if not standard fitment on the car as built
Have you checked that your insurance will cover for this upgrade, as it bodywork which is crash tested for Joe Bloggs on the street or bicycle which can be damaged by the mirrors, you could be doing something nice to the car but could make it illegal to take on the road.
Just words of caution nothing more,

As TVR never went through any crash testing using the small manufacturer loophole instead I can't see it being an issue, also as each car could be spec'd by the customer who now can say what it came out of the factory with these records are a bit hard to get hold of but not impossible! You do know that mirrors are crash tested and insurance companies can refuse to cover if not standard fitment on the car as built

Simple mod declaration to insurance co is still advisable.

Think if you do research you will find that they did crash test and records are actually available. I am only giving a heads up and its better to check first than find out bad news later. Of course all could be well and good but simple check by telephone to inform insurance wouldn't be out of place Simple mod declaration to insurance co is still advisable.
We do after all live in an ever increasing H&S world

We do indeed live in an ever increasing H&S world, although back in the late 80's early 90's things were shall we say a little woolier and Euro NCAP style testing was only for the big boys.
I haven't found any info on "official" crash testing results for the Chimaera, plenty of crashes but not official results, although happy to stand corrected if someone can provide a link to the "Official" info.
To take the modification premise to the extreme, I have heard tales of insurance co's trying it on because of replacement parts used during a normal life of a vehicle i.e Windscreen not declared as replaced at time of buying the policy and subsequent accident claim thrown out for this reason despite nothing being wrong with the windscreen and the replacement being done at a previous insurers "approved" repairer, so most definately advisable to declare any modification to your vehicle no matter how trivial you think it may be.

No links/leads offered as yet . . .
Don't disagree that we are in a nanny state H&S world, and would certainly advise mod declaration.
All if the above chilli, I suppose the looks are abit of a muchness as the old ones don't exactly look bad, but I think I do prefer the tt ones. They Arnt too big for the car either but do give a bit more visibility. A hell of a lot better built than the s
tron ones, not only will they stay together for well, ever, it's just a simple clip inside the mirror which holds it in, so if you do ever need to remove it, yiu do t have to break the mirror in doing so. I also plan to retro fit mk2 tt wing mirror indicators into the wing mirror too ao I can get rid of the God awful fiesta side repeaters
