V8 Rocker Arm Replacement - where to buy?
Discussion
Sorry folks, to bother you,
but even the "search" did not deliver answers.
I need one new / used original rocker arm for my out-built 4.0 HC RV8.
Reason: Hardened plate gone away.
This engine did only run for 28.000 miles.
You can imagine, that i was pretty relieved, when i found the reason for the tickering noise.
Not a slipped liner, just a rocker arm.
The first one, left bank, looking from gearbox to front.
Only labelling is HRC 1050 15.
That does not really give a hint, what to look for
Due to the low mileage, and the poor resonance of my engine-sell-offer at ebay,
i don´t want to rebuilt the complete engine.
What do i have to consider before ordering?
And where to order, that i can get the similar one?
Thanks

I've just done this myself. I had one go completely actually smashed into pieces, and then when I checked the other bank one fell off when I touched it, so I'd recommend replacing them all personally.
I bought mine from Rimmer Bros;
https://rimmerbros.com/Item--i-GRID009191
Note they are handed, so a full set is 8 left and 8 right. The left and right refer to left and right for each cylinder, not left and right banks. This is fairly obvious when the shaft is removed and you see how they are positioned.
602153 and 602154 are the numbers.
I used the all steel alternatives, as then there are no pads to fall off. 602153P and 602154P.

Real steel.
Be very careful where/what you buy. After buying from one from a TVR specialist, my car started smoking like a pig. Removing the rocker cover showed oil to be running out from edges of the rockers and swamping the valve stem oil seals.
Returning the rockers shaft and rockers, I purchased another set from a different TVR supplier. These did exactly the same and looked identical to the first ones I fitted.
Putting my old rocker assy back on the car again, I looked at the rockers with the engine running and could see a drop of oil every 10 seconds from the edge of the rockers and no more smoke.
I have to say both the suppliers readily reimbursed me with one of them pursuing me to contact them after I was delayed getting back to them. I thought I would have a fight on my hands (I had bought the rockers some months previously) but both suppliers behaved impeccably.

Ok,
i´m really grateful for your help.
As the 4.0 engine has pretty low mileage,
i will not change the complete camshaft.
That´s what i plan for the new 4.6 next year.
Now i have to identify what alingment i need:
It´s the first one, gear/clutch side, left bank.
Exhaust valve and looks like a right hand side.
Am i right?

I would take Steve up on his kind offer , but post up a pic, mentioned already they are handed
if you want YT roller rockers go direct to Paul @ V8 Tuner rather than pay others inflated profit margins
make sure you budget for new good quality rocker shafts at the same time if going that route
