Exhaust swap

My original exhaust on my mk1 500 had the silencer box altered with the pipes and wadding removed - not a great sound at idle but great at full chat.

I'm going back to standard and have picked up an unaltered exhaust but it's off a mk 2.

My original exhaust had the flexi downpipe whereas the replacement has a solid downpipe - will it fit?

Please say yes as I spent all yesterday afternoon polishing up the tailpipes working from 180 to 2500 grit paper...don't think the neighbours were too impressed but they look spot on now.
