Hello all
I’ve been trying to source a front timing cover for serp engined Chimaera without success! I have tried every Landrover/Rover Tvr parts suppliers including Rimmerbros and they all say that the part is now obsolete and cannot be obtained from any supplier! They cannot offer an alternative front cover.
Can anyone please advise me on where I go with this?

Try V8 Developments, John Eales engineering too , if the oil pump housing isn't scored to buggery throw in a pair of gears and a new PRV spring and your good to go

Thank you spitfire4v8 for pointing me in that direction, and it is exactly what I need, but unfortunately it has to be collected and that is something I cannot do at this time!
My Tvr is off the road until I can source one!

Thanks Zener... I been on the V8 development John Eagles site but nothing there. The front cover is buggered having been filled with what looks like a metal filler in the past and was leaking badly.
Cheers!

Just checked in the garage and I have one on the shelf.

Not cleaned up, just as it was removed.

I think you will find these are different from the TVR front covers. I made the mistake of sourcing one of these several years ago thinking it would fit and it is completely different.

The front cover on my 4.6 P38 Rangie is definitely different.

There doesn't seem to be a photograph on that page.

Looks like the key thing to lookout for is the small hole above the crank/oil pump which I believe is for the crank position sensor.

It all fairness it would be difficult to get them mixed up scratchchin the differences are obvious compared to P38 4.0/4.6
