Took my Chimaera for a drive
Discussion
Sun was shining, so I told SWMBO that I was taking the car out to test the new oxygen sensor.
Got a laugh for that one, though I wasn’t aware of any mechanical skills in Mrs. Bee. I suspect she thinks I just drive it for fun. Perish the thought.
Just a 20 mile trip around the villages outside Newark on Trent, but wow, I had forgotten what a joy my car is to drive, smooth, powerful, quick. I even turned the turbo up to its higher setting for a change. 395 bhp, and 525 ft lbs of talk. Has to be “talk”. Ever met a TVR owner who didn’t?
Met a Honda S2000 coming the other way over a blind single track bridge. The driver thanked me for stopping to let him go, and blew my car a kiss with both hands, without stopping. Nice.

Good man.
Excuse 5/10
10/10 for the attempt
Did you go west per chance? The A616 is one of my favourite roads from Newark, through Ollerton up to Sheffield.
I was out in the Tuscan yesterday, further down the A46 however out towards the wolds with very little traffic.
I truly had changed the O2 sensor yesterday. So a reasonable excuse, as I had only started the car and checked that the gauge was reading. Excuse 5/10

I agree about the A616....until they recently slapped a 50 limit on it.
Notts seems to have bought a job lot of 50 signs and speed cameras, though thankfully haven't deployed the cameras yet on the A616.
No, I stuck to the country roads mostly, started from Coddington, through Stapleford Woods, across to the A46, round Newark, into Farndon, across the south side of Newark via the villages ( the narrow bridge was on the way into Hawton) and then out a few villages and back via Balderton.
I was out in my shirt sleeves, big mistake.
She had her coat & hat on with her hood up looking like nanook of the north.
She started counting my goose bumps & said does the blower work.
Followed by good its starting to rain so we can put the hood up.
Moam moan moan.
But you have to take every opportunity to go top less.
Cant leave the Morgan boys to be the only roughie toughies.
In all the old films it never rained when a MG was in shot, now theres a thought.

and last time I did, I had to drive through a flooded road, fortunately without hydro-locking the engine.
