Rover V8 breather pipes question
Discussion
Hi folks,
Not a TVR question but seeking Rover V8 advice (I had a Chim so trust you guys!). My buddy’s Cobra has a RV8 on single carb and he’s noticed a small leak from a metal can in the lower right of the engine bay; the can has rubber pipes to the rocker covers and the leak seems to be from the cap on the can.
Are these breather pipes and what is the can for? Just wondering if the leak should be a concern re crankcase pressure etc? Thanks!

uusally crankcase fumes are returned into the intake manifolds´s vacuum. therefore 1 rocker cover has a mesh-fileter vent and 1 is connected to the intake.
with several carb conversions or on track engines crankcase fumes can be also routed into a catchtank. so both rocker-covers are routed into a catchtank
but those tanks must have a (big)vent towards athmosphere and you regulary need to empty those tanks.

This ^ it probably just needs draining/emptying , owners often fit this stuff without realising it then needs to be serviced/maintained with several carb conversions or on track engines crankcase fumes can be also routed into a catchtank. so both rocker-covers are routed into a catchtank
