Next job on the list is camshaft. its not in bad nick but one lobe is a bit low (well it was last year when I was looking for the tapping noise at 3100 rpm which was a slightly worn big end shell).

The engine is a 4.6 with Stealth cam, double valve springs, pocketed pistons, cross bolted, top hatted, with oil cooler, ally radiator.

Since I have owned the car its had that cam in it and its very good, but I have since fitted

1. Upgraded injectors (30 pct higher flow than standard and misting printles)
2. 72mm Plenum and smooth bore induction pipes
3. 123 programmable ignition distributor
4. 20AM MAF

So i'm thinking the cam could now be a little more ambitious.

Car will be primarily for road use but plus track and drag strip.

What's the cam options would you suggest ?

I wouldn’t go too mad personally, maybe worth a call to V8D with your requirements.
I know they do a slightly wilder than the stealth track day camshaft, but may spoil its road manners.

Never had the stealth so can’t comment from personal experience but Daz has the stealth in his 5.0 and makes brilliant figures with good road manners.

With the new camshaft fitted, timed in correctly and I take it standard heads, you will be pushing about 280 bhp. Get yourself a set of V8D big valve ported heads and you will see another 40 plus horses.

Stick with the a new Stealth cam wink anything more radical will come with noticeable compromises especially low speed manners frown

Peter, my car had a stealth cam when it was NA, ie before the latest incarnation. You must have driven it then
