Hello

Final job to sort before getting properly back on the road for this season: When starting from cold, the idle will gradually rise to 2000 rpm. It then settles back at 800-900 after the engine has warmed up fully.

1) It is not the stepper motor, as the car is on Canems ECU and the stepper is deleted as part of this install.

2) The oil pressure gauge is reading with an offset of +50 psi since the sump gasket was replaced, which, thinking about it, may have coincided with the start of this behaviour, although I can't be sure. I have a new N0126 sender on order from TVRSSW which should be going on next week.

3) Car had a new thermostat, valley gasket and complete coolant system overhaul this time last year and the fans are ECU driven, not from an otter switch so I don't think it is coolant/cooling-related.

Next thing I need to do is start clamping off the various hoses into the plenum, but in leiu of doing that are there any headline places to pay particular attention to?

I have already inspected the butterfly valve and cleaned the area thoroughly, plenum in situ.

I would expect an air leak to keep the rpm elevated when warm too.
How is the Canems managing the idle?
I'm guessing through extra timing.
Not disturbed the crank sensor at all when doing the sump gasket?
Can you pull up the Canems software when running to monitor it?

I bet it as a rotary idle control valve though ,. Personally nothing wrong with a 1800/2000 cold start up value you want the spinning crankshaft throwing oil onto the camshaft , so long as this subsides shortly after , you need the software to look at live data and make ajustments if your not happy

Ok. I'll have to put the software on the laptop and have a play. Eliminate the hoses and oil pressure, then ask Lloyds for any hints.

Yes, but I can't recall exactly when it started playing up so I can't say for sure it wasn't OK afterwards!
