Cuts out when hot

The starter engages just about when hot

Check voltages when hot, battery voltage, ignition and if engine earth is ok

Is the engine temp actually 90? Check with Rovergauge in case it's actually hotter and overheating. Have you checked the condition of your wiring loom? The heat can be enough to cook and burn out the loom - which is what ended up killing a few ignition amps on my Chimaera.

Before you go to the 12,000th degree of inspecting though, do the usual checks when it cuts out. Do you get spark? Fuel? Spark at the coil? Then the dizzy?

I've got it

Well I think I've got it

The timing is too far advanced when the engine is hot

The Dizzy Bob Weights could be sticking in the advanced position

With a situation like the above, what happens is that the spark is present when the pistons are needing to travel further up the bores to complete their compression strokes

Too far advanced ignition is holding back the starter motor which gives the symptoms of a flat battery

Have a good day
