Hi all,

Griff owner here. There's lots of info in the forums regarding relocating the fuse box but a lack of detail on the loom routing before it gets to the transmission tunnel. Can anyone with a Chimaera confirm how the loom goes behind the dash before it ends up in the footwell ?

On the griff, it goes along the top above/behind the glove box and drops down behind the passenger air vent before travelling to the back of the footwell underneath the heater box.

To reroute down the transmission tunnel did people change the loom routing behind the dash or something else or ? I can't work this bit out from any of the forum posts on this topic.

Regards

Ian

I seem to remember when you pull the fusebox and loom out it goes up under the dash in the corner nearest the gearstick, obviously on a Chim there is no glovebox as such just a glove "flap"
Chim drivers dont wear driving gloves or have medallions to put in there. smile

Thank you for the feed back all.

Spikep - Did you have to extend the loom or if you rerouted behind the glove box did you have trouble with any wiring exiting the loom towards the wing ? Out of interest, did the sound deadening stuff (fat mat ?) make much difference ?

Three D Muckateer - Nice clean install. Nuff said !

The loom wiring is slighty different on a Chimaera from a Griff (ive done both), on a Chim its already long enough to reach behind the seat by running the cables along the transmission tunnel.
On a Griffith however part of the loom goes up over the glovebox, from memory it's a dozen or so wires, making the loom too short. you will need to extend those wires that go over the glovebox. i just cut them at the branch and splice in enough cable to match the rest of the loom (in the correct colours as im anal like that lol).
Once this is done the loom is then long enough to mount the fusebox behind the seat and its only those few wires that need extending

No I did not extend the loom. I shortened some cables to make them the same length and moved a few wires about. This was to move the added in second fan relay on to the fuse box.
The loom as 1 bundle did not work either and that’s why it is spread out.
I don’t know if the fatmat makes any difference as the cat was off the road when I bought it.
