Hi,
My dash temperature gauge started reading cooler than normal, then over the course of a week or so read lower and lower and now doesn't register anything.
The fans still come on and off okay. I changed that sensor last year (I think it was E0376 ?)

Is this the sensor for the temperature gauge?
If so, are there any tips to accessing it, and what the part number is? (is Motoclan N0066 the correct one?)

Many thanks
Paul

Motaclan website says N0066 is the sender unit for early cars (think that will be cars with black gauges), is yours an early car?

It's the silver rims that make it a later model, the gauge faces were available in 5 colours, at least!

Yes, thats the sender for the gauge.

I'd recommend doing what others have done and leave that one where it is and fit the Caterham TT6811-03 sender. This is matched to the gauge and provides an accurate reading and is much easier to fit.

You can pluck the wire off the old sender by removing the distributor cap and getting your hand in there.

The other thing to do is clean up all earth points you can find - the ones in the engine bay get quite crusty over time.
This might not make any difference to the temperature gauge, but it certainly won't hurt.

Thanks for the replies.
Daft question, but if I leave the other where it is, where does the Caterham sender fit?

Sorry to hijack, will this fit early Chimaera's too(93)?
As mine is showing the same symptoms and garage recommended changing it.

I don't think so. The TT6811-03 sender is for the Smiths/Caerbont gauges.
