I've downloaded rovergauge and the main page show up, however I'm not able to find the correct USB port. I've already used com1-4 and 14+15, non will recon it. With settings I do not get a drop down of com options, it's all Blanco. Checking the laptop to determine the com port does not give me any clue. When I connect the USB I hear a sound but do not see anything change in device Manager of the laptop. Can someone help me how to be sure which com port I need to type or get the dropdown menu to work?
The main question is if the USB cable in the car is Connected to the cars computer, I'm not fully sure about this. When I check the file name of the USB I could find it's called: ft232r USB uart. Checking Google and found it's a chip, not sure if it's the ECU or the rovergauge connector.

It's been ages since I've used rovergauge so I can't be much help beyond the stupid question of have you got the ignition on?

More than once have I been sitting there playing with the settings only to realise that there's no flashy lights on the cable because the ignition was switched off hehe

One step closer: today I used another USB port, when I go to settings I mange to read it was com4. It could connect but only the red light was on....
Then I thought, you need to disconnect the counter plug so maybe this is needed as well. A bit strange to make an usb connection in centre console and still need to disconnect the counter plug but hey we can always try, and it worked smile
I have live data, rovergauge came to life bounce
1 error code was fuel pressure low, after deleting it did not came back, rest was ok.
Only lambda short term shows 0% while long term show normal figures. Strange, someone have an idea?
Now I need to spend some time to understand what I'm reading to find the cause of why it's running rich and rough. Step by step we are getting closer to the solution.

Other question: if you leave the counter plug of the white connecter, what will happen?
It would be nice to leave it off so I can plug the laptop at any time without getting under the dash.
Thanks in advance

Assuming you mean the grounding plug?
I have read it makes no difference leaving it out but I cant really see why you would need to.

I can help you with understanding what RoverGauge idata means. I will need you to run a "logfile" which involves driving the car for a short time then letting the car for a few minutes all while you record the data in the logfile.

Once you have the logfile send it to me and I will analyse the data for you and report back on what's good and what's bad.

Will update here with the "how to" procedure later today.

Yes the ground plug.
If I leave it off I can always check with laptop as a pre owner made a usb connection in the centre console, if the grounding plug has no function it's easier to let it be disconnected.

I would ask the question here for a definitive answer.
