New windscreen.......the TVR seal does not work!

Had crack in Chimaera screen......got insurance to pay for replacement......great.
Watched the RAC wrestle the TVR supplied screen into place, only to discover to my horror that the TVR supplied seal was different from the old one to such an extent that the doors wouldn't close and the roof wouldn't fit
!!!!
Only solution was to get them to glue back the old seal. Unfortunately this is pretty knackered and does not extend fully to meet the smaller seal near the wing mirrors

Anyone else found this.......why are TVR supplying the wrong seal.....it's far to thick to fit.
Any known sources of new but correct seals?

I had the same problem when I had the screen replaced on my last griff,thats after a certain cheshire dealer had initially supplied me with a cerbera windsreen and wasn't too helpful in swapping it,but that's another story!My local fitter,who owns a very good experienced company,tried four times to get the new TVR seals to fit correctly.Basically,it was a matter of pride to him and he tried various combinations of repositioning the screen and seals,but,still couldn't achieve the correct result.The seals kept lifting around the top curved corners of the screen and would pull away from the sides when the doors were shut.His conclusion was that the seal wouldn't push in far enough and needed cutting to fit.He recommended taking the car back to the factory and he would pay for them to sort the problem out,as he couldn't think of anything else to try-why can't everyone give such good service!
The factory refitted the screen perfectly,as you'd expect,with new seals.They said that they do have to trim the seals to allow them to push in far enough and that the top corners are always a pain to achieve the correct wrinkle free effect.

I've learnt to live with the problem with the roof etc. But what can I use to reglue the seal back to the screen as it has completely ome away in a couple of places, and has wrinkles in others?

Bit of a thread resurrection here, 2003, so I'm hoping a solution to this problem has been found by now.
I've been trying to fit new windscreen seals that I bought from a well known supplier of TVR parts, and the roof will not fit now. I've got round the 'wrinkle in the corners' issue, but the seal itself does not seem to fit very well at all.
Do you need to fit the windscreen seals with Sikaflex? I'm a little wary of using the stuff as its a PITA to removed if mistakes are made, etc.
I'm on the verge of just sikaflexing the seals on, and then smearing Vaseline on the lip of the roof to make it squeeze into it's position.
Any helpful tips appreciated.

I had my windscreen replaced and was advised to use the original seal if possible as the replacements don’t fit properly. That must be 5 years or more ago.
My only advice would be to use washing up liquid and hot water mix using a spray bottle to lubricate rubber.
Maybe one of the Tvr car breakers might keep old but useable ones. .

Yes, I wrestled with it some more this morning but I'm throwing in the towel. I've put the old one back on, which is missing about 2 inches from the bottom of the NS. Why are TVR parts suppliers supplying us with a seal that is unfit for purpose?

CC, I assume the silicone used to put these back on is Sikaflex?

Dont forget the black trim/rubber is just that its not a seal as such just something to cover the glass bonding/edge and void between body and bonded glass , glass adhesive/Silkaflex etc is not Silicone/RTV based just for info and should go nowhere near that rubber trim
my trim fits so well I would be content to clean and re-use for the very reasons above, poorly fitted Tiv screens are a pet hate of mine
