Ice detector on a Chim
Discussion
As the car was damaged at the front it seems that the "Ice detector" Thermister is no longer present. I have ordered one but the question is what should the wire colours for the connections be? I have looked on the wiring diagram in the SH Book second addition and can not see the "Ice Detector" mentioned on the diagram.
I have also noticed the the letter "K" comes up in the colour code on the wiring but is not mentioned in the listing. Does anyone know what "K" it represents?
Has anyone got a decent wiring diagram or seen one on line that I could get a copy of?
Many thanks.Len

K is pink. the SH pub wiring diagram is generic there are some circuits that were added by TVR that are not shown, if the thermistor is in the nose cone area dont confuse the two pink wires which are for the fansI have also noticed the the letter "K" comes up in the colour code on the wiring but is not mentioned in the listing. best Ice detector I've found is when you get in the car if its frosty out then its frosty out

The ice thermistor is in the nose probably just laying in the dirt.
Wire colours are orange and orange/white.
There will be a two pin connector with both halves mated together but it will look like the wires have pulled out of the other half. This is where the thermistor is or was. they are not very robust so it is not surprising it has failed.
If you buy a replacement it will come just as a component with bare leads. You will have to solder it into the connector.

Yes the new thermister arrived indeed it looks nothing like the one in the book it looks more like a very small resistor or diod. Still cant find the bleeping wires though.Wire colours are orange and orange/white.

I have an ice/snow warning system in my, er, arse
It always lets me know if I'm experiencing traction issues, and works a bit like the brake pedal on my Golf does when the ABS cuts in....
Nearly home after a bum clenching 20 mile journey when I stopped to snap the little red light

Hope you get your wiring sorted
