So, I flew up to Aberdeen yesterday afternoon for an early start in the office this morning, and landed back in Norwich just after half six this evening... Airport back to my place is about 20 miles. I didn't time it exactly but I think it took me about three and a half minutes to get from the airport back to my humble but well appointed gaff in the Norfolk countryside... It may have been a bit longer than three and a half minutes, but that's what it felt like... Obviously, I was in beastie.. I thought I'd treat her to a run out and a night in the airport car park surrounded by Audi's BMW's Mercedes and the odd Pork.. She loves slumming it...

This little exercise though has reinforced my belief in a phenomena that I recognised quite some time ago, but chose to ignore... (classic symptoms of denial....) As soon as I get in that car I become a complete hooligan.... It's not that I drive like a knob (well I don't think I do), but my right foot detaches itself from my brain and does what it wants, and my brain seems to encourage it, like it's saying 'go on, go on, give it some you tart...

The older I get the worse it seems to get... and it only happens when I take beastie out..

I can't be the only one......

God help us...

Being a comparative newbie to TVRs, I'm still at that novice stage where I think it's going to kill me.

......you are not alone. I just choose licence and track days over country roads and no licence.

If you are around on Saturday 8th April, try the pre-Burghley Rutland Rumble. About 80 miles of Rutland's finest roads, legal limit in all villages and brisk on the open road. 60-70 other TVRs to keep you company. Loads of cheerfully applauding yokels along the route.

If you think that, can I check it has had a proper 4 wheel alignment by a competent expert?

I agree Anthony, and for a while the track days completely removed my 'need for speed' other than on track... It's a curse I tell you...

I manage about 25mins, tops, if I am in convoy with someone driving slowly before the wife starts rolling her eye balls at my childish behaviour.

I have expanded the toy fleet with something porky and Mrs B and I have just had a lovely weekend away in it but there are no plans to get rid of the Chim and long may it stay that way!

Then I might just be S**tting myself a whole lot more giving it the beans.
