Door Mirror Switch

Anyone know how the mirror switch comes out of the door on a '98 car? Is it door card off, broken arm and lascerations, or does it simply prize out from the front?

Hi Graham. Only driver's mirror moves when either button is pressed. I'm sure they both used to work. Probably needs a clean but not sure I can face card off job.

Thinking about, I think it was sealed in some way and I took the view that it wasn't working so I could only make it better and used some silicon spray or wd40 and pressed the buttons lots. It did the trick....

Re doors off, it is not that bad , especially if you have watched James Herriot at some point in your life. Mind over matter and put your arm in past the elbow, with long sleeves on, and it's fairly simple.

Cheers Graham. Was thinking of the WD40 method too, so I think that will be top of the list!

Hear what you say about the long sleeves and James Herriot method and to be honest I frequently think 'how difficult can it be!?' That said, if the WD40 doesn't work, I'll probably wait until the windows slow down and I have to take the card off.
