Hi, just been out for a run in the chim, all started ok then seemed to be running on a lot less than 8 cylinders and also started popping from the exhaust, first bit of trouble in 3 years has anyone got any ideas what the problem could be, cleaned plugs etc last week and alcohol changed ignition amp.

Many thanks

Sounds like a lose plug lead, or more than one. The vibration rattled it lose after a short time driving the car?

Check that the leads are not swapped. It's surprising how well the car runs with two leads the wrong way round.

Suspect the plug extenders. Notorious in causing problems. You can't buy decent ones so maybe do away with them

If you still have the old ignition amp, try swapping it back in. The new ones are sometimes sub-standard
