Oil pressure sender/wire.

Ok I am still working on the 2001 4.5 Chim to get it on the road.The engine runs ok and sounds sweet so I know I have oil pressure but it does not show on the gauge. Having looked underneath I find I do not have a wire attached to the sender and there is not a wire hanging down. There is a plug (two wire) near buy and the wires are colored Grey with a Yellow strip and White with a Brown strip. I think the wire should be Brown with a White stripe.
Does any one know were the wire should come from for the oil pressure sensor? e.g. where on the loom or physically on the car?
I have still to take the top of the dash of to look at the alarm system as that does not work so I can look at the gauge end of things then. Has any body got any recommendations. Apart from a box of matches?
Does anyone know the resistance change of the sensor with pressure? Or how to test the gauge?

The switch is White and brown and the sender to gauge is brown and green the should both come through the grommet at the passenger side behind engine and go over the water pump under the alternator and to the switch and sender.there is a socket behind the stereo where you should see both wires before they go to the gauge and led
I have looked all around the bulkhead of the car engine side and can not find the wire for the pressure gauge (Brown and white). Have now got the top of the dash of to look around. On the back of the gauge I have a green wire and a green and brown one also the black earth. I will take the radio out and see if I can see it behind there, but does it change colour from Green/White or Green to Brown/White at a plug and connector or what?

Oil light starts as White/Brown at the switch and ends Brown/White at the lamp.
Oil pressure starts as Brown/light green at the sender and ends Green/Brown at the gauge.
The change happens where the engine loom joins the car loom in the passenger footwell.

Well I have at last given up trying finding the elusive wire, I have had the alternator off and unpicked the loom behind it all to no avale. The wire in any of its guises does not exist so I have run a new one. I can not test it until I have fitted the new alarm from HF Solutions hopefully next week.But

Mine is a 98 Chim, The wire is brown/Light green. It goes from a connector just inside the passenger wing, down the passenger wing, across the front of the car and then back along the engine bay side of the driver wing to the gauge. It is not in the part of the loom that goes to the alternator.But

I have a 2000 year car and this is correct as I now remember Jason at Powers explaining the route it takes. I've considered replacing it with a more direct route to gauge so much shorter in length so this is actually a good thing to do regardless. Hope this helps.

Thanks for the info guys but my car seems to be all on its own when it come to wiring, as suggested I looked in the wing, took both inspection panels off, got a light in there, a camera so I could see around the corners, no wires of the requisite colour could be found. So went with my original plan and ran a new one. Now I have oil pressure.
