hi guys used the chim all weekend and on sunday called for fuel and when came out of the garage it wouldn't start turned key and nothing. Disconected the battery thinking it was immobiliser but made no difference. After about half an hour after a lot of locking the car and leaving it for a bit to see if it made a difference we decided to push it out of the way and leave it a bit. When being pushed i decided the try and bump start it and it started no problem. Any ideas please i have started it half a dozen times since without any problem .thanks

Similar thing happened to me years ago. People will say it the hot start problem, and it could be.
But for me it was a sticking starter motor. Only happened once. I soaked it in WD 40 and never happened again. Worth a try.
Search for hot start there is loads of info on here.

Check the voltages at the starter when the fault is on the vehicle
Check the voltages at the starter with it working if you can't get the fault to come back on, even with the starter working the voltages could show up as lower than they should be so you could at the least get the voltages sorted even though the starter is working and then suck it and see

What distributor has it got? I remember eons ago having one of those distributors with 8 ferrite poles inside and an external silver ballast resistor pack. It caused all sorts or random starting problems that were impossible to diagnose.

Get everything hot. Run the engine until fully upto temps and have a drive about with fans kicking in and out, get it hot. Go home. Try it then. I'm sure this will be a heat related problem. My monies on sticky starter sol or relay problem that only appears when things have got hot. Mine typically would fail to start after engines been hot and switched off for at least 5 mins. Immobiliser relay on the starter side would just stick. Leave it to cool down for anything upto 40 mins then bingo it would work.
