Good point, but...Don't have any with the car up high, and from the height I can get to I can only get about 150mm of chassis tube into a photo. I really should have taken some decent ones when I was changing the gearbox. I have some less than perfect Iphone photos from MOT time - perhaps I should put those up.

The perils of using Pistonheads is the tracking of your contributions.I presume you solved the 'failure to start' problem you had in April?

A head-on picture of the dashboard / instruments would be nice to show its condition, since a driver will be looking at it a lot! If the dyno graph is that good, show a close-up of it. Well done for admitting there are a couple of electrical problems but it will put people off.

When I sold mine, I placed a 3 foot mirror on the floor in relevant places under the car propped up at a small angle, and took the reflected images of the outrigger tubes to show they were OK. Not ideal but it was better than nothing I thought.

Personally, I don't like the use of exhaust wrap. Many people promote its virtues but it just doesn't look attractive IMHO.

Thank you for the feedback guys particularly your honesty yes the failure to start was the ignition amp. Mirror under the car is a good idea might try this with some better photos of the car. I do have a decent slr and yes the photos are crap but tbh it never puts me off looking at a car. Point taken though. Electrics faults yesterday I agree it will put some off but I'd rather they were put off not w rather than after they've driven halfway across the country. Treat others as you'd like to be treated yourself and all that. Views on asking price?

id agree the picture are poor, car even looks dirty/dusty and it will put people off, the attitude will be that if you cannot be bothered to put decent picture up or clean the car, what else can you not be bothered to do. Just saying smile get some tyre shine on it....

With regards to the electrical issues, can you not simply get them fixed? again could lead to someone thinking that you cannot be bothered..

Something id recommend for the future, photo document all major work, when I had the engine rebuilt I went to Mat's at took loads of pictures of the chassis and engine install. People like to see pictures, especially that of work done

Putting it on ramps and/or axle stands will help to get some shots along the chassis length

It's dark under a car unless you have plenty of transportable lamps. Photos don't come out very well, at least mine didn't at first, which is why I used the mirror on the floor. Reflected daylight was ample!

If I'm brutally honest I don't like the wordy text, and the pictures are pretty poor.

I think it's a safe bet none of the pictures accurately reflect the colour, if they don't at least tell the buyer the name of the colour.
I don't like ads with lots of superfluous text that doesn't really tell me anything worthwhile and is at best subjective.
I just want the facts, dates, mileages, the spec, the history.

Not sure I'm overly qualified to comment as I recently had my 94 Chimaera up for sale and had very few real enquiries and ended up selling it into the trade for peanuts as my new 'summer toy' was waiting and I needed the cash/space. wink

When I'm browsing for cars I also like the minimalist descriptions (some take this a bit too far, however!).
However, when selling I've always had much better luck when portraying more of a "story" I suppose, so now always take the time to write a lengthy description. Of course will all the numbers and facts in there as well. I've assumed people feel more comfortable as it seems like it's been well looked after? Which all my cars always are!

New photos added, and some under car shots. Description modified slightly. I will add some dates when I get the time to go through the service history. Thoughts?

Looks ok to me, i prefer to see honest ads. I think anyone who is serious about buying one of these will come and take a look if it has a new chassis. A local garage may stick it up on the ramps for you to take a few shots for a few pints.
When i bought mine the pictures at first put me off and were not that great, but i could tell from the description that it had been well cared for.

Why remove the Reg'?

Peeps can check it's history for themselves if it's in the add'.............. without having to ask the seller.

Might help.
