Is fibreglass magnetic?
Discussion

I parked in Homebase's car park this afternoon, leaving a clear six spaces in every direction from any other car. Popped into the shop to buy a hook, came out and this had somehow been magnetically attracted to my car....

Why? He/she had virtually the whole car park available and I was at least 15 spaces from the door to the shop. I suppose I should be grateful it wasn't parked two feet closer with six careless seven year olds on board.....

Is parked as far over in its space from your car as possible so not sure what there is to moan about here. Probably just someone who wanted to take a look at your car before going into the store.
I think this rather misses the point that it could have parked at least one (or more) space away from the OP's car without any effort.Shameless roof off shot
You will go for a colour that looks like rainbow Sherbet, sweets for the eyes.
Welcome to the don't matter how careful I am someone's going to scuff my paintowok gang.
And those are massive parking places, ones around here are designed for motorcycles only by the way you have to squeeze in and out,,,, puts me off shopping, bloody idiots! We all damage our cars cos there trying to squeeze in 6 extra spaces. I honestly avoid shopping at such malls as it's desrespecable to their customers having such obviously undersized spacers. Diabolical. Rant over
Truth is this costs people money in repairs which is why your clearly paranoid

This happens to me almost without exception, whether I'm in the TVR or the A7.
I always try and park as far away from anyone else as possible - especially after someone put a ding in my old 335i in a supermarket car park...the worst thing is I'd only just bought it and had popped to the shops taking it home for the first time...!!
I like to keep my cars clean...my theory has always been that people must be attracted to nice shiny things, whether by choice or subconsciously.

Sadly the reality is there are people that can't park between two white lines and have to line themselves up next to another car. If you look at the front wheels that isn't someone that knows how to park, that's someone who has just swung in and stopped. Not much care and attention there......
Just park in two spots. If there are loads of free spaces then you arent inconveniencing anyone. Back fires sometimes mind, I parked at the furthest end of Xscape one morning, as far away from the entrance as possible and a bit of a trek as a result. Huge car park, more than half empty, so parked in two spots. When we came out however, the car park was absolutely rammed, felt a right tool getting into my car taking up two spots!

I'd have had two wheels on the cross hatching on the left.
This is PH anyway, do you not usually send the butler to places like Homebase?

Actually, the daughter had sent me, I think I am all things to all women and children in our house.
But, as she says, her husband is to DIY what i am to macrame...... and chocolate teapots melt in Homebase, apparently.
However, I am slowly training him in the ways of the Clarkson School of Engineering approach to DIY.
A mower cutter support arm had got badly bent on the gardener's ride on mower.
I showed him how to remove the offending item from said mower (imperial spanners, as it's an American piece of
tHe then asked if I had a vice.
I nearly replied "several, but not relevant for this task", but instead took him over to the tool shed and showed him the array of hammers.
Placing the offending bent steel bar on the concrete, I selected a 10 lb sledge hammer, and in three seconds the bar was straight again.
He was well impressed, but then he does come from Merseyside, so is not used to the sight of someone actually working.

I parked in a Cash & Carry at 8 o'clock one morning in a completely empty car park and the next customer drove in and collided with my car.I watched it all from the window of the Managers office and still don't understand how it happened.
