I hope someone on here is thinking with more clarity than me. I'm a bit stumped and would appreciate any wise words.

Had a problem where if I stomped on the gas, it lost power, discovered disconnecting the AFM more or less sorted it. Fitted a new AFM today from Racetech, and basically it drives pretty good, a bit of shunting, maybe a little hestiation on acceleration, and maybe not quite the power it was, but those could be imagination.

Hooked up Roverguage, and I see the LTFT is at -100% on both banks. Disconnected ECU and reconnected to reset, and after a few mins, same is true, then took for a drive of about 10mins, no difference. The only other change I have made is to swap the dizzy cap for a new one.

Ideas appreciated. Here are the pictures of Rovergauge with long and short term trims at tickover.

Update, swapped back to old AFM, trim is fine but still has the power problem, best thing would be to have a known good AFM for a temp swap.

I dont think the long term trim is fully set as well,to start with as it would be at 100% if it had run out of trim. Give it at least 2.5 mins at idle at 90'c - you should see it move slowly before it settles.. Check the AFM is genuine Lucas, not a nasty Chinese replica without any Lucas badges.

Update with some news, tvrparts said (after I chased them) that the parts Lucas had got in had all failed quality control, so I cancelled my order with them and spent extra money with Racetech to get the one they had in stock, it reads long term fuel trim of -100% on both banks after fully warming up etc.

Had a brainwave and appealed on facebook for a nearby Chim ower who I could do a quick swap with. Steve the star volunteered. So I popped round there Saturday morning, noticed shunting, and not fantastic pickup.

Swapped his AFM onto mine, this was better, with LTFT not quite -100%, he also had another in a box, so we tried that, and all is well, LTFT at -67% and -87%. Almost no shunting and great performance.

So I think I need a return to Racetech. But I may have deeper problems....these LTFT values are not ideal, but at least the engine management is keeping up. STFT is oscillating a few points around zero.

Thoughts anyone?

You are now down to any other other variables- fuel pressure, any sensor or possibly the fuel map.
