A transformed car - Baker alarm and new tyres/geo setup
Discussion
Hi all,
Well, my car is completely transformed by a combination of the Carl Baker alarm solution, and the brilliant guys at TVR 101 sorting our the geometry with some new tyres to boot. Having recently purchased I hadn't realised the existing tyres were 12 years old, so have got all 4 done. Aside from the convenience of the remote boot release (that really is so useful!) the work is under the hood but Carl has worked his magic and I can't help but conclude it has done something to improve the driveability. Clearly, I can't know for certain and the new tryes and geo have obviously made a big difference. Without exaggeration, it was/is like driving a different car - and I can enjoy it so much more. Both Carl and Steve at TVR 101 were an absolute pleasure to deal with - and it is worth the trip to 101 to see the lovely cars they are working on!

And here as well
Carl worked his magic on my car a little while ago and it has run much better ever since he replaced the alarm and upgraded a few parts of the wiring system. The latest addition of Yokohama ADR08's all round has also helped the car handle better and add to the driving experience

seems like we are all on the same page
I guess the nature of the car means the tyres make a really noticeable difference. I've driven a variety of fun cars over the years and deliberated about tyre choice, but in reality, would be hard pushed to observe a significant difference in driveability - but with the Chimera it's clearly a significant factor. And getting 'Bakered' seems a no brainer too.
Talking of tyre grip, I was taken out last night by a friend in his new 911 Carerra 4 GTS - and words fail me. Has to be the quickest car I've ever been in by some margin, and with almost superhuman grip. It was proper gut-wrenching stuff - an astonishing feat of automotive engineering. However, at £108k +, I'll be sticking with my rather rawer car experience, which is no less enticing for different reasons.
