So I've been having a few issues lately, with misfires and poor idle when warmed up. After numerous tests and random parts replacements I'm now working though the wiring looking for faults. At the same time I want to do a bit of a tidy up of the wiring.

Since I'm running a V8D plug in and play megasquirt ECU, I'm still running with the original loom, but with an additional loom for the coil packs and trigger wheel, plus extra wiring for the wideband and tach fix module. TBH the wiring is now a bit off a mess and while I'm in there I may as well try and tidy it up, by removing all the redundant connectors and ECU wiring.

I found the following picture on the net and there appears to be 3 A/C connectors, a diagnostic port and fault code reader port, plus a bunch of wiring that I don't need. Just wanted to check which of these plugs and associated wiring can safey be removed.

Long term I plan to fit a new loom possibly combined with an upgrade to MS3

That photo is used a lot but it is in error with the green socket.

I was helping with a battery change on Chimaera 500 with air con fitted last year, and the green socket was still blank. Yes the air con was working! It was 1999 model if that has any relevance.

It will be a wise move to tie back any unused plugs/sockets rather than attempting to remove them, wait until you are making a new wiring loom

After asking for help and advice on this forum I came up with the picture and notation above. If there is any doubt about the green socket I would be pleased to hear what it is for if it's not for A/C.

When I tidied up my wiring I deleted this socket and the two yellow ones without any adverse effects.

This is a later version of the picture above but I will correct if there is an error.

Sorry to disagree but it is part of aircon but I can understand it may not have been used in some installations.
The most significant wire from that relay base goes to the ECU pin 36. Most diagrams show pin 36 as control for the A/C condenser fan timer.

I can't see an issue with removing the relay bases if the wires are connected to open sockets.
Id snip back, heat shrink and tape to loom. Make sure any double wires are kept together.
The Ecu will fit under the dash top, i did this on mine and it really tidies the battery area.
