Mate and i were discussing the Imola/Estorill wheel history on 500 Chims

Did the early cars start on Imolas with upgrade to factory option Estorills,or were they Imolas first then superseded with Estorills.?

What years had what?

Reading the Chimaera Pages

500's are all meant to have Estorills

When did the 500 come to market. I thought Estorils were from about 98-99 onwards and fitted to all Mk3 cars from 2000 onwards but that could be mis information smile

TVR originally gave new owners the choice of wheels if you asked, I've seen early 94 500's with imola wheels but most cars quickly moved to Estoril as it was a visual differentiation and matched the new griffith 500.

That of course led owners of 400 or 400hc wanting estorils to make their cars look like th 500. This was all at a time when the badge on the rear just said chimaera regardless of engine size.
