Mine as most I've seen had Pioneer speakers fitted. Mine had especially battered grills so I found some modern replacements. I can't recall the make at the mo but they're much higher output to the original and with a newer head unit you can actually hear them over the car at motorway crusing speeds.

My Griff came with pioneer from new. Nothing wrong fitting alpine though and if you find a matching alpine headunit and power amp you could have the beginnings of a nice sounding sound system.............when your engine is turned off of course wink

Mine were Pioneer. The grilles were very battered. I managed to get some identical new old stock off eBay for not very much money. If you want to stay original keep scanning eBay something will turn up. However I must say the whole original Pioneer setup is pretty crappy and I think there's a strong arguement to install a modern system with Bluetooth and hands free.

Just found the link to the pair I bought JL Audio c2 600x. I didn't like the look of the grills originally but they've grown on me. I'm still in 2 minds as to if I should spray the silver rings black or not. They're one of the few modern speakers with decent output that I could find in the right size as most where too large when I looked at the dimensions.
