I noticed a bargain for 3 bottles of Redex the other week so picked some up.
Chucked the correct amount in and filled the tank last Sunday then clean forgot about it.
All week I’ve been thinking it’s running really sweet.
Today warmed the engine upto temp and fans on/off etc and just checking it over and still thinking corr this sounds quiet and just really in the sweet spot.
Is it likely that some or all the injectors can get a bit noisy here or there and the Redex has indeed sort of lubed them up.
I’ve been wondering all week and only just now realised why,,, it’s got to be the Redex.
Thoughts chaps.

I’ll try and be a bit more specific
In layman’s turns what is Redex or Injector cleaner as it’s otherwise known
Has it actually cleaned up my fuel which is why it’s running even sweeter than normal as much as quietened down my injectors.
Does it add some Ron content to the fuel so a bit of boost or is that rubbish talk.
It also suggests it should be added regularly. I’ve not done it in two years so going by my ear today it’s well worth using.
Probably my imagination but I also felt it was good on fuel this week, better smoother more accurate injector opening times are going to add to smooth running manners, it’s been on form for that all week smile

I bought 6 bottles of Redex from Costco a year ago and put it in my chim's tank every time I fill up - shouldn't do any harm, but you made me think about it.... this came up after a google on the subject:

6hp increase in an old VW Corrado VR6 looks quite impressive....

And we have eight injectors smile
Excellent results.

So it’s not my imagination then.
I got 3 bottles for £6 and almost questioned if it was just water biggrin
Effectively 6 tank fulls so well worth it. I’ll go get some more......
Ironically I’m hoping with all my spending I’ve achieved a fat spark and healthy air intake already let alone sweet fuelling and ignition timing.
I neglected to consider the fuelling mechanicals for some time. Glad I used the Redex now.
Excellent stuff so it seems.
It was someone on Facebook who was experiencing a noisy fuel regulator that prompted me to think about getting some and then by chance came across a bargain.

Just watched the video, I always thought that stuff was snake oil but now I am going to give it a try.

Both my cars are over 20 years old and I have been using Redex for ages. Touch wood, never had any MOT emissions problems, no smokey exhausts and cars run smoothly . Maybe placebo but the stuff has been about for age, so it must do something.

I'm old enough to remember the pump can on petrol station forecourts and asking for "2 shots"

If you buy pukka petrol from pukka retailers (e.g. Shell V-Power, BP Ultimate, Esso Synergy) you'll be getting all the additives you need without the faff of separate dosing. We've moved on a bit since the days of 'shots'. wink

I used to run some every now and then in my offroad landrover Bowler. It did make it much smoother. Never really looked into why but it did the trick. Ran a 4.6 Rover V8 John Eales Engine. Drop some in the Chimaera now and then too.

Off road involves lots of mud st and dust,, and jumps biggrin great fun
If it worked on something going on that terrain it must be good stuff,,, and I’ve still got
2 and a1/2 bottles of it left so as it’s obviously quietened my injectors down which is great news smile I’ll use it up.
