Radiator & bonnet mesh
Discussion
This post is for the young Lad with the yellow Chim i met on the Thrills in the Hills run.
He wanted to know how i added the mesh.
Yes i know the majority of you have seen this sort of thing before.
And it does not affect the cooling.
I used 5 mesh 4mm opening for the radiator £29.90 for an A1 sheet & 2mm for the bonnet vent £3.00 a sheet, marine grade stainless wire from the mesh company.
The epdm U channel good for 120 deg C is for 1-2mm panel 10mm deep £1.53 M from Seals Direct.
The 1mm thick aluminium brackets are from the local horse box makers scrap bin.
If you cant find any PM me & i will cut 2 pieces & post them to you.
How it all goes together can be seen from the photos.
I have just replaced my radiator & wanted to lessen the damage. I like the bonnet vents & it stops people shoving fish & chip papers in your bonnet.
I removed the number plate so you can see how it looks. Should look good on a yellow Chim.

I have more issue with leaves and what not going on the manifolds when parked. I start to smell burning about 30 secs down the road!
